Project Finance Director , Miami, Florida, USA $100,000-$120,000 + Benefits + Bonus
My client is the leading IPP in the solar energy industry experiencing explosive growth, with investments in commercial solar parks in; Europe, Asia and the US, with a significant pipeline of new projects in the Americas. As a result of this rapid expansion, they are looking for a Project Finance Associate to join their US team and support US International operations.
As a lot of the focus of your work will be in Spanish speaking countries, full working knowledge of the Spanish language will be a huge benefit.
Position overview
The Project Finance Director will be responsible for helping to develop/expand banking relationships and source capital for projects throughout the world. The position will participate in negotiating financing agreements, working with counsel/third parties and developers to close transactions. Working in the position, you will benefit from extensive global travel and business transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Build and expand banking relationships in key markets as the Company expands; particularly in the Americas.
- Evaluate various financing structures/proposals – providing scenario analyses and recommendations.
- Develop strong working relationships with banks/investment banks and project finance teams to help drive the optimal deal structure and be part of the team that executes transactions.
- Maintain organized data rooms necessary to centralize information for projects under development that will be utilized both internally and by third parties such as; lenders, attorneys, independent engineers and other advisers and consultants.
- Use analytical and business insights to make recommendations in order to maximize the financial performance of projects
Education:
- MBA is desirable and a Bsc in engineering, science, or math
Core Requirements:
- 7 years experience in project finance with direct experience in originating, negotiating and closing transactions, ideally in the energy, renewables and/or solar space.
- Must have experience working with international and virtual teams.
- Ability to find practical solutions to hurdles in financing projects on a non-recourse basis.
- Ability to travel internationally
- MBA or Msc is required
- Tax equity experience
- You will have had experience working multilaterally
