AMEC Environment Infrastructure, Inc. (AMEC) has an opening for a project level Hydrogeologist in the Missoula office.
Job Responsibilities:
· We are looking for a self- motivated candidate who is able to work as part of a project team; think clearly; has strong technical writing skills; prepares technical reports, supporting documents and calculations and is capable of managing clients.
· Initial duties are expected to include: management of scope, schedule and budget on varying site assessment and water resource projects, oversight of field personnel, occasional field oversight of remedial system installation, drilling and well completion, geologic logging; soil and water sampling; aquifer testing; general site inspections; data evaluation; performing interpretation of geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental findings and general report preparation.
· Project management, overseeing other project and staff level personnel.
· Management of clients
· Oversee and lead field work, including drilling oversight, site characterization, site remediation, well construction, soil and water sampling, aquifer testing, and general site inspections
· Data management/evaluation and report preparation
· Interpretation of geologic, hydrogeologic, hydrologic, and environmental data
· Be responsible for the effective management of own time and effort in accordance with project priorities
· Development of project scope, schedule and budget
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
· Five or more years experience in the environmental industry preferred
· Working knowledge of the geologic, hydrologic, and soil classification systems
· Knowledge of environmental regulations
· Knowledge of general geologic concepts including stratigraphy, aquifer testing, hydrologic monitoring, and geochemistry is required. Strong background is site assessment and site remediation also required.
· Strong quantitative capabilities and experience in a range of hydrologic and hydrogeologic applications
· Knowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation and sampling, experimentation, research, and documentation
· Ability to understand project objectives and arrange work flow and priorities accordingly with clients and contractors
· Soil and water investigation and remediation skills, ability to manage site assessment and cleanup projects
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience
· Familiarity with basic computer programs and databases such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
· Ability to adhere to project tasks and budgetary constraints
· Candidates must be willing to travel locally and out-of-area for short to extended periods of time as necessary.
· Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous OSHA training and hazardous waste handling experience is required.
