Project Leader Data Conversion/Interfaces

- Bachelor's - 5 years Has responsibility for the work activities of a group of Health Data analysts/programmers, business analysts and other support staff. Reviews work for completeness and technical accuracy. Ability to both lead teams and work within teams to meet goals. Utilizes systems configuration or programming to resolve business problems. Participates in project planning to ensure effective use of technology and/or business process to meet customers needs. Allocates resources to accomplish goals and objectives through assigned staff. Establishes and monitors project and task schedules and ensures adherence to work deadlines. Provides leadership, motivation, and direction to staff, builds teamwork, and fosters staff cohesion. Contributes to staff evaluations. Works on multiple, complex projects simultaneously. Provides business analysis and requirements definitions to senior management. Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with technical expertise with relational databases. Education: Work requires a professional level of knowledge in Information Analysis and Delivery and managed care operations as acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare or Business Management . A Masters degree is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be substituted. Knowledge: Work requires extensive knowledge in planning, monitoring, measuring and reporting on Data analysis and delivery projects. Knowledge of managed care operations and medical coding (CPT, ICD9, DME, HCPCS) Demonstrated ability to define data analysis requirements and propose formats and strategies for answering business questions. Advanced knowledge of relational database, SQL, DTS and reporting software. Familiar with software development lifecycles. Skills: High analytical ability to solve complex business problems. Skilled in directing the work of a diversified staff in requirements definitions and report development. Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate appropriate timeframes for deliverables to customers. Advanced interpersonal skills to interface effectively with department heads, employees, clients, consultants and staff. Effective communication skills for interaction with staff, peers and customers. Experience with data mining tools and software. Prefer Advanced SQL, Visual Basic, MS Office and Advanced Crystal Report Writer experience. Must be able to work as a member of a problem solving team. Requires strong analytical and computational skills. Work Experience: Work requires a minimum of 5 + years experience with computer systems and report/data analysis development. Experience leading HL7 interface development is highly preferred. Experience with Claims, UM'CM and Credentialing Applications preferred. " Previous exposure to implementations from major Healthcare Information System vendors (Epic, Cerner, McKesson, Sunrise, IDX, etc) is highly recommended. " Formal project management training or demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, coordinating, controlling, and reviewing tasks performed by project team members. Strong understanding of and experience with the full software development lifecycle. Experience writing functional and technical specifications. " Experience in leading projects involving interfaces using HL7, X-12 or other standard protocols is preferred. " Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects and to manage projects with team members across various organizations with diverse skill sets. " Experience working with customers to define project scope and objectives, identify user needs and requirements, and consulting with technical staff to develop a project plan. " Advanced interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with technical personnel, clinical staff, consultants, vendors, and senior staff. " Excellent written and oral communication skills. " Solid history of establishing and meeting work schedules with limited time frames and under tight deadlines while delivering a quality product. " Demonstrable experience using Microsoft Project as a key component to driving project success. " Demonstrable experience with risk management, including identifying risk, assessing risk, recommending risk mitigation strategies to management, and good follow through to retire risk. " Must be able to participate in providing gap analyses, from a technical perspective, highlighting current state, future state, customer needs, best practices and evaluating competing priorities. " Understanding of clinical workflows and exposure to clinical settings is a plus. Exposure to implementations from major Healthcare Information System vendors (Epic, Cerner, McKesson, Sunrise, IDX, etc) is highly desirable. " Exposure to interface engine technologies (Sybase IMPACT, Cloverleaf, eGate, JCAPS, Rhapsody, OpenLink, Biztalk, etc) is strongly preferred. " Epic Bridges certification is a plus.
