Project Manager – Flow Products Change recruitment

Operations interfaces with all aspects of the Investment Banking organisation in driving through the solutions needed to support and develop the different business areas of the Bank. Operations is the heart of the Investment Bank and is key in enabling the Bank to provide services and products whilst meeting the challenges being faced in a rapidly changing industry

The Securities Settlements Change team sits within the broader Flow Products Operations function, which covers all Securities and FX Operations processing. The Securities Settlements teams cover the processing of Cash Equities and Fixed Income products, as well as Prime Brokerage and Stock Lending settlements. The Securities Settlements Change team is responsible for the delivery of projects directly or indirectly related to the Securities Settlements function globally and work closely with the ‘run the bank’ line teams and managers to deliver against the agreed long and short term Change portfolios. These are reviewed regularly with our stakeholders in order to ensure maximum value is delivered at all times, and consistency with the long term global strategy is achieved.

The successful candidate will join the European Securities Settlements Change team in a senior project manager capacity. They will manage a regional portfolio of work but will have regular global interaction and may take responsibility for some global deliveries. The European team have recently completed a multi-year programme to migrate all Cash Equities Operations processing onto a new in-house strategic platform, and are in the process of building out plans to further leverage this platform across other asset classes and regions. Analysis is in progress and development will begin imminently. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at the start of a multi-year programme of work, covering all of Securities Operations globally, that is core to the future strategy of UBS Operations.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Global Head of Securities Settlements change. The team consists of approximately 8 people in London, 2 in North America, 8 in APAC and 12 working at a vendor partner in Hyderabad, India. The team work in close partnership with our colleagues in IT who, for most projects, follow the agile / scrum method of software delivery.The successful candidate would ideally be expected to:
• Have extensive proven project management experience, including evidence of successful delivery.
• Have strong understanding of Securities Operations processes and products.
• Be able to face off directly to senior Operations and IT stakeholders (Regional and Global dept heads)
• Develop plans for large scale project deliveries with limited direct guidance.
• Independently manage the project and perform the necessary project tracking and reporting.
• Work closely in partnership with our colleagues in IT to develop future state designs and implement working solutions.

Experience of having worked with a wide range of project delivery methods would be beneficial. In particular, experience of working in an agile / scrum delivery model would be preferential.

• Change management qualifications preferred
e.g. Prince 2, Certified Scrum Master accreditation (Scrum Alliance).
• Proven track record of high quality large-scale change delivery required.
