Project Manager
Project Manager of Capital Projects is needed for a Houston chemical manufacturing plant. This is a full-time direct hire position offering competitive base salary and benefits. Local candidates preferred. Petrochemical plant manufacturing experience is required. Ethylene or propylene experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- You will provide input to assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, and recommend design modifications to eliminate structure, machine or system malfunctions.
- You will work closely with Vendors, Suppliers, Consultants and Service Technicians and make recommendations to construction and/or maintenance crews.
- Conduct research that analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems, and develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods
- Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and specs
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
- Candidates from Ethylene, Propylene and Olefins plants are preferred
- 20+ years in Project Engineering and with Management roles supporting Petrochemical Manufacturing, ethylene or related manufacturing environment,
- Able to work 50% Office Environment with 50% field work
- Must possess strong skills in managing, presenting, troubleshooting/problem-solving, planning, coordinating and organizing.
- Knowledge of production and processing (raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing manufacture and distribution of goods), customer service, business and management principles (strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique)
