Project Manager

Eaton Corporation has an opening for a Project Manager that can be located in Houston, TX.

This position can be flexible to be located remotely within the state of Texas (from a home office), or located in Houston, Dallas or Beaumont, TX, working out of one of our facilities.

The Project Manager is responsible for the use of modern project management tools and techniques to execute projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power system modifications. Modernization projects will relate to the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry with specific focus on hydro electric and industrial power systems. The Project Manager will use his/her knowledge of industrial and utility power distribution equipment, power system engineering, substation design, construction safety to deliver projects with a high degree of professionalism and safety. The Project Manager will have full responsibility of project and authority to complete his/her assigned project from inception to scope development, planning, execution, management of people and resources. He or she will have the discipline to create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and follow these objectives through to successful completion.

The Project Manager will also provide technical leadership to the district sales service teams. Individual must be capable of self-managing and directing a team on awarded projects for electrical equipment, including working knowledge of electrical substation design installation. Equipment includes: transformers, oil circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, SF6 gas circuit breakers, metal-clad and enclosed switchgear, protective relaying, power cable, substation equipment, motor control centers, medium voltage control, excitation equipment, automatic transfer switches, rotating equipment and AC drives.

Please note that relocation is not included with this position. Only local candidates will be considered.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution

Minimum of 3 years experience in an electrical project management or field service engineer/technician role

Authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Valid Drivers License without restrictions

Ability to travel within the US and outside of the US without restrictions

Preferred Qualifications:

BS in Electrical Engineering

Experience in hydro industry

Experience with substations, excitation, power systems upgrades.
