Project Manager
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (“HKEx”) is a leading integrated exchange and clearinghouse operating one of the largest cash and derivatives marketplaces in Asia together with the London Metal Exchange, the world centre for industrial metals trading.
HKEx has developed a strategic plan to expand and extend the range of products and services that it provides to maintain its competitive position and to build its future. With the ambitious goal of bringing HKEx’s platforms to a new level, HKEx is looking for talent to join its team to develop the platforms of the future for HKEx.
Job Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will work in the IT - Platform Development to pro-actively drive and manage delivery of projects, and to provide analysis and research support for various initiatives being undertaken.
Key activities include:
- Project management responsibility for in-flight projects to ensure project delivery within budget and agreed schedule;
- Steering committee project reporting and project governance enforcement;
- Management of external vendors and service providers;
- Liaison and coordination with internal users and IT teams;
- Production of implementation plans, timelines and go-live strategies;
- Research and analysis, liaising with users and IT teams;
- Preparation of business cases to gain acceptance with internal and external stakeholders; and
- Analysis of requirements and functional scope for new initiatives.
Requirements:
- University degree, preferably in IT and/or Finance related subject
- At least 10 years’ industry experience in Information Technology and related area in securities and derivatives trading market
- Delivery experience in business facing IT projects with mission critical systems
- Know-how of technologies and business operations in trading transaction processing
- Knowledge of ITIL processes such as Change, Problem, Incident, Availability, and Configuration Management
- Proficient project management skills (certification such as PMP and ITIL preferred)
- Strong inter-personal and effective relationship management skills
- Solid managerial, analytical, planning, communication and presentations skills
- Strong command of written and spoken English, with proficiency in Putonghua an advantage
- Knowledge of HKEx cash market trading platform an advantage
