Project Manager
Investment Services / Fund Accounting supports numerous changes each year which includes product launches, new investment instruments, regulatory changes, business process improvements and technology changes. Change Management is responsible for managing and implementing these projects and programmes for the Investment Services and Fund Accounting business.
The successful candidate will manage a wide variety of large and multi-phased projects and will work closely with Investment Management, Treasury and the Retail business channels along with Technology and operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Contributing into the strategic decision making process which will include presenting ideas/solutions to the management team
- Prioritising projects and defining resource requirements
- Gaining buy-in and approval for projects from stakeholders
- Manage, motivate and influence project teams and project sponsors throughout a project lifecycle
- Producing appropriate project plans
- Communicating project status, issues, risks to sponsors, key stakeholders etc.
- Work in partnership with Business Change Managers to ensure effective delivery of project objectives into operational areas and their translation into benefits
- Proactively identify and resolve complex issues across different teams and functions
Our client would ideally like someone who can demonstrate a detailed understanding of middle and back office operations gained within the Investment Management industry to include transaction processing, asset servicing, asset valuation and fund accounting.
You will also need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Significant experience of project management including proven track record of delivering large / complex projects
- Strong motivational people management skills
- Proven ability to prioritise and organise both your time and that of the team
- Ability to actively participate and contribute as part of a management team
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to bring people together to work through issues
- Strong communication skills including presentations, written reports and verbal communication
- Excellent Problem solving skills and the ability to rapidly understand complex issues, structure problems, gather creative ideas and deliver workable solutions
- Proven Planning and Implementation skills across large and complex projects
We are looking for someone who has a “passion for the detail” as this is not a high level governance and admin role. This is a very “hands on role” and the successful candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to understand and discuss the detail and provide guidance and input where required.
Given the nature of the role you will need to be an exceptional communicator, possess drive and demonstrate your ability to build strong relationships, deal with senior stakeholders and negotiate delicate matters with passionate stakeholders who have extremely high expectations. You will need to be very articulate and structured in your work.
