dressbarn has an exciting opportunity for a project manager who will oversee strategic projects within the merchandising system business function. Projects may include new technology, upgrades, proof of concepts and deployment. In addition to ensuring projects are completed within the agreed upon scope, he/she will be responsible for financial governance, budgeting, business cases, capacity planning, resource management and will assume a leadership role in team development.

The project manager is expected to be experienced and knowledgeable in IT processes. Responsibilities for this position include:
- Managing one or more cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity
- Assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately
- Establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations
- Key project milestones tracking and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers
- Coordinating communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed
- Contract development, negotiation and holding vendors accountable
- Supporting existing systems to meet Service Level Agreements and user expectations including user communication, system/job recoveries, system/job performance and documentation
- Providing input to support Human Resource management responsibilities (e.g., hiring, performance management)
In addition, a firm understanding of the following is essential:
- Software development lifecycle (SDLC) particularly as it relates to purchased software applications, joint development projects and applications supported by a managed service provider.
- How to build a staffing model and manage ongoing capacity planning
