Location: Crystal City, VA
The Project Manager acts as the overall manager and administrator for the project. They serve as the primary interface and point of contact with the government project authorities and representatives on technical and project issues. They also establish and maintain technical and financial reports in order to show progress to corporate management and clients; maintains client contacts to ensure conformity to all contractual obligations; and ensures the development, maintenance, and implementation of project/work order management plans/documents which guide the performance of all functional activities is performed.
Responsibilities:
• Monitors and executes project activities, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules, costs and quality assurance goals.
• Reviews and approves all project plans and schedules.
• Provides presentations and reports of work status (i.e., cost, schedule and control) and other measures to senior management and client. Provides appropriate communication to all stakeholders.
• Defines and manages project risk, data management, and resource management, including training and performance evaluations.
• Performs project cost estimating, budget control, and critical path scheduling.
• Ensures compliance with the contract such as security and travel requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Previous successful project management experience
• Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
• Knowledge of and experience with quality standards including **ISO 9001**.
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Office.
• Ability to manage staff that may include employees, partner companies and/or subcontractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum of 7 years professional experience
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Experience managing a staff of more than 5-7 people.
• Knowledge of and experience with **quality standard name** standards
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors Experience managing government contracts
• Experience with SDLC framework
Required Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
Desired Education and Certifications:
• Master’s Degree
