Project Manager

This position is located in the Boulder, CO GMP API Manufacturing and Development site. The plant has approximately 120 employees with a development group of approx. 20 - Scientists, Process Engineers, chemists and analytical support. Most of the development projects involve generic API projects in the oncology area in which timeliness and cost are critical components.

Responsible for managing and coordinating mulitiple API development projects from approval into development through registration of dossier to obtain cost, quality and delivery targets. Make risk based based decisions on projects and guide the project teams to final goal of regulatory filing. Communicate development progress to multiple Hospira sites.This includes all administrative aspects of project management.

  1. Responsible for all API development projects through regulatory filing and deficiency response. Key activities include: Project schedule, project budget, resource scheduling, tracking progress and reporting deviations or potential deviations, coordination of activities, progress reports, among others.
  2. Evaluate and continuously improve the process of API Development specifically looking at efficiency improvements with key resources and tasks.
  3. Complete tasks as necessary to ensure successful completion of API Development projects. This can include tasks such as ordering, coordination and follow up with third parties and others.
  4. Responsible for outsourcing all method development and validation
  5. Assist in the development of the strategy for all new API development projects, regulatory filings and deficiency responses
  6. Help direct and guide analytical resources

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in science (chemisty)or engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience:
Five (5) plus years experience in science or engineering field related to the life science industry.

Demonstrated experience and success in project management with small teams. Basic understanding of project management roles and Techniques. Knowledge and use of project management software. Knowledge of regulatory requirements including GMP, GLC and related regulations as they impact development projects. Excellent communication skills and ability to positively influence project outcomes and timing. Must be able to communicate cross functionally, foster teamwork, problem solve effectively and help make things happen. Must have strong planning and organizational administrative skills.
