AvalonBay Communities, Inc., a national development/construction and property management company, is looking for the right candidate to lead the construction of mid-rise and high-rise multi-family apartment buildings throughout the New York City metro area. Based in New York City, this position will report directly to a Director of Construction. The Project Manager will play a key role in construction project management and planning for several mid-rise and high-rise multi-family projects. This will include reviewing construction plans/drawings and their submittal process, creating buy-out schedules, preparing bid packages, assisting in the acquisition of permits and approvals, reviewing construction commitments and negotiating contracts and change orders. In this role you will also maintain project progress information, ensure projects are on schedule, within budget, safe and secure, and prepare cost data for project control analysis and reporting. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5-10 years experience in the construction industry with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable in all areas of construction from site development through delivery and acceptance. Computer literacy is required and a four year degree is preferred.
