Project Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the Program Management function for the development of products including the following:
· Responsible for overall management of products from conception through early production
· Own all action item lists, risk management both technical and business
· Executes projects in alignment with Advanced Input’s Product Development Policy
· Works with Team members to develop business case justifications, project proposals including scope of project, investments and return
· Manages all aspects of new product development and leads core team members
· Responsible for top-down scheduling and maintenance for total cross-functional project development
· Acts as the primary technical and business contact for the customer’s development team
· Coordinates electronic and packaging design development with respective Electrical, Mechanical and Test Engineering functions
· Reviews design with Manufacturing to ensure product is manufacturable
· Responsible for BOM content
· Own system level design reviews
· Approve deviations in development
· Responsible for numeric CRs
· Responsible for tracking development schedule and budget, margin review, PJ setup and unit cost
· Responsible driving project plan to completion
· Responsible for quotations to customer for project related Scope of Work changes
· Champion customer requirements
· Responsible c of c requirements aligned with customer specifications
· Responsible for coordinating supply chain development for purchase requisitions for parts and tooling
· Responsible MOQ decisions during development
· Responsible for managing customer expectations during development
· Responsible prototype build and customer approvals
· Responsible for internal conformance reviews
· Manage customer relationship, expectations and customer accountability
· Primary customer point of contact. Responsible to obtain proto approval
REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
· Engineering degree required with a minimum of 5 years project management experience or equivalent work experience in an electronic manufacturing environment. Various levels of experience are required for each level of Program Management.
· Ability to write Product proposals, requirements and specifications
· Ability to organize and delegate program deliverables to cross-functional team members and NPI support staff
· Must be able to create budget for non-recurring activity and ensures that these budgets are adhered to, and that results are reported
· Ability to establish total cost models for product developments
· Ability to proactively manage expectations of the customer
· Experienced with Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling tool
· Meticulous documentation skills of project history in a fast track environment
· Designing for Manufacturability and Designing for Speed
· Experience with industry standard PC interfaces
· Rapid Prototyping experience
· Electronic Packaging experience
· Ability to establish sourcing and tooling strategies, and execute to that strategy
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with customers, vendors, and factory personnel
· Able to manage and lead internal resources as well as external contracting design resources
· Experience with all aspects of end product packaging trade-offs
· Ability to manage design projects from conception through early production
· Ability to manage multiple projects
· Evaluates impact of customer-directed changes or issues and works with customer and internal organization to resolve appropriately
· Monitors and manages program risks
· Willingness, ability and desire to travel
Desired:
· Experience in a technical manufacturing and engineering environment
· Experience with designing and analyzing multi-part mechanisms and mechanical/electromechanical assemblies
· Ability to design and analyze software and hardware electronic products
· Designing for EMC compliance
· Electrical or mechanical CAD tool experience
· Experience with the development of host-based software drivers
· Experience with the development of or integration with Single Board Embedded Controllers
· Experience with firmware development for embedded microcontrollers
· Experience with all Industry Standard Bus Protocols and Networks
· Familiarity with Reliability Engineering methodologies including worst case, stress, durability analysis and HALT
· Familiarity with FDA, TUV, EC, FCC, etc. agency requirements
· Familiarity with ISO 9000 practices
