Project Manager – AML/Financial Crime

An opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with an AML/Financial Crime background to work with a leading UK financial institution across a programme delivering strategic and regulatory change to the existing AML framework.

Duties include:
Manage the end to end design and implementation lifecycle of allocated financial crime business change activities and initiatives that are critical for continual improvements
Support the definition and assessment of initiatives (projects, small business changes and non IT initiatives) – through from understanding and analysis of the initial problem statement to assessment and business case definition
Manage design activities on assigned projects/changes – including understanding of AS IS and development of TO BE
Manage the end to end implementation of assigned projects/changes – including impact assessment, implementation planning, implementation execution (including testing) and stabilisation/handover to business teams.
Successfully deliver a range of business changes (prioritise projects, small business changes, non IT changes) ‘end to end’ – including tracking and analysis to demonstrate that target benefits have been achieved
Engage with a wide range of stakeholders across Compliance, Technology and Operations and other business areas to support the design and implementation of assigned changes.
Regularly report on the progress (plans, risks and issues) of allocated initiatives, including attendance at key internal (technology and operations) and wider business (Compliance etc.) meetings and forums

Experience required:
Experience in designing and implementing change in a medium-to large sized UK Bank (including IT projects, small IT changes and non-IT projects) – experience of delivering AML-related change (e.g. KYC, Customer Screening, Payment Screening or Transaction Monitoring) is essential
Experience of managing testing and/or implementation of business change
Strong project management and prioritisation skills – in particular the ability to manage plans, dependencies, and on occasion multiple smaller initiatives in parallel.
Effective presentation skills – ability to disseminate complex information and produce clear, concise conclusions and deliverables (both verbal and written).
Clear and effective communicator – comfortable working across a range of levels and skill-sets.
Ability to work to tight timescales
Working knowledge of AML/Financial Crime regulation is essential
