Business Engagement
• For the assigned business units and areas, maintain a detailed awareness of their strategic business objectives and direction, identifying shortcomings in how current systems support these objectives and ideas on how current or emerging technologies could be better leveraged.
• Using suitable estimation techniques (e.g. comparison to previous projects of similar nature and scope, calculation of project budget based on estimated benefits and minimum ROI requirements, etc) and general experience, provide an indicative range on the anticipated project effort and timeframes.
• Work with the business sponsor to gain appropriate approval for budget and resources through out the duration of the project.
People Team
• Project manage all staff and resources assigned (including regional or contract resources) to complete the project.
• Provide regular status reporting and management of all relevant stakeholders.
Financial
• In conjunction with team members, finalize all estimates on effort, costs and delivery timeframes, and the project plan by which the solution will be delivered and the benefits realised.
• Provide ongoing management to ensure adherence to the project plan and the budget along with proactive management of risks and issues identified.
Job specific
• Based on the agreed project scope, indicative benefits and the BRS, evaluate the viable options available based on current and future state architecture models, and develop the high level recommended solution in consultation with business and technical design representatives, including risk and assumptions, and revised estimates on project effort and timeframes.
• Based on the agreed high level solution, develop the Functional Requirements Specification (FRS) that ensures business users have a detailed understanding of the proposed solution, while also communicating in detail to technical design and development staff what they need to deliver. This could include such representations such as screen and report layouts for key functions, decision trees or other specifications of business logic, indicative entity relationship models, etc.
• Maintain a detailed awareness of the current and proposed future state business function and application architecture, including the underlying data subject areas and entity models.
Specific Requirements
• Understanding of the regulated environment and how it impacts the role
• Expertise in working within/understanding matrix business structures
• Experience and knowledge of the development and implementation of business and technology architectures.
