The incumbent in this position will be responsible for managing the development, implementation and ongoing operation of the District Transit Asset Management process and performing project management duties to implement a technology-based asset inventory and accounting system.

In addition, the incumbent will develop the District’s Physical Asset Management Plan and Procedures; coordinate with multiple internal organizations to establish standards for assessing condition of assets; develop, propose and enforce policies and procedures for tracking asset attributes and life cycles; perform periodic State-of-Good-Repair asset condition analysis and provide periodic reports to the Maintenance Engineering department for use in defining the Rehabilitation Capital Program as well as reporting capital project financial and budgetary information to senior and project managers; and perform related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

1.) Principles and practices of physical assets management

2.) Principles and practices of project management

3.) Developing automated tracking systems for effective project control

4.) Developing Federal and State grant applications

5.) Strong problem solving skill in the area of applied technical, staff and management issues

6.) Principles and Practices of maintenance-centered engineering design

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; 5 years of verifiable project management and administration experience which must have included at least 1 year of supervisory experience; registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California; and a valid CA driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

CAPM or PMP certification, Master’s degree, and previous transportation experience are all preferred.
