Project Manager for Electronic Trading Group within Clearing and Settlement
The Sales Technology department at our client Americas develops and maintains the core systems used by the firm’s internal sales and trading desks (Institutional and Broker Dealer), the applications used by the middle and back offices to support the desks and the platforms that are distributed to their external customers to trade equities, options, futures, currency and fixed income instruments.
The department’s Project Management team is responsible for full-scale business analysis and project coordination on each initiative, working closely with both the technologists and business sponsors through all phases of the development lifecycle.
The Clearing project is focused on building out the client’s capabilities in correspondent clearing. We are engaged in a multi-year build out of systems and staff to support this effort.
The team is seeking a candidate to focus on project management, business analysis, development specification, quality assurance, implementation, and product support for general clearing projects – both internally developed and vendor tools.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business stakeholders to research and document business requirements
- Manage user design sessions as needed
- Draft detailed functional specification documents
- Translate requirements to development staff and assist with system design and configuration
- Develop and present proof-of-concept prototype designs
- Institute a structured quality assurance process for the platform, employing industry standard testing methodologies
- Work with the lead technologist to support the change management process for software development on the platform.
- Work closely with vendor professional services teams to understand development initiatives, support the product, etc.
- Create and manage detailed test plans
- Execute and validate function and regression test cases
- Track software defects and lead the development staff in prioritizing, resolving and implementing fixes.
- Coordinate and support user acceptance test cycles
- Create reference documentation for end users
- Oversee the implementation of new software
- Conduct user training sessions as necessary
- Administer systems (e.g. user administration, maintaining entitlements, etc.)
- Provide post production support and track open issues
Target Candidate Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree (preferably Finance or Computer Science)
- Minimum 5 years experience in financial services
- Minimum 7 years business analysis experience and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Skilled in writing requirements documents and diagramming business processes and workflows.
- Expertise in quality assurance and structured testing methodologies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of balancing and managing multiple priorities concurrently
- Meticulous, structured approach to problem solving
- Experience in Back office clearing including: Stock Loan, Settlements, PS, Margin, Cash Management, IRA / Mutual Fund clearing and settlement, New accounts
