Hello!
We are seeking a strong Project Manager to join our client's team in Downers Grove, IL in a contract-to-hire capacity. This PM will manage a group of eCommerce technology projects as part of the overall Group IT program. The PM will interface directly with technical staff and have experience with user interface (UI) and web design, database and infrastructure projects and manage projects from design to implementation. This individual will also work regularly with business unit project sponsors and senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for applying a structured project management methodology to ensure projects are relevant to the business objectives and are delivered on time, on budget and in scope
- Possess a strong management background in software application development.
- Manage multiple projects/work streams simultaneously
- Facilitate and manage projects cross-organizationally with multiple integration points/partners
- Experience in project management with on-shore, off-shore, and multi-site development teams is preferred
- Ensure that unit, system and integration tests to new or existing systems meet agreed system development standards.
- Manage financials and reporting for each project
- Define resources and plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones for project implementation
- Create strategies and mitigation/contingency plans for risk and issue management
- Establish relevant project / client KPIs and ensure they are met or exceeded
- General knowledge of B2C e-commerce business practices and processes, relational databases, SEO and web technologies.
Skills:
- Impeccable oral and written communication skills with all levels of users and management. Writing samples will be requested.
- Possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies (Iterative/Waterfall/Agile) and tools (MS Project).
- Strong commitment to customer service is critical to success in this role.
Education and experience:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5-10+ years of project management experience required preferably on eCommerce or web development projects
- PMP Certification is preferred
- Experience in an Agile development environment
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel and Sharepoint is required
- Knowledge of QA and defect tracking tools a plus.
In addition, the PM must be willing and able to travel internationally on short notice as well as have the ability to work off-schedule hours on short notice on occasion in support of corporate initiatives or support-related efforts.
