Overview of responsibilities:
The successful candidate will project manage new product development projects across the stage gate process to support Husky’s global supply chain team. These efforts will improve the lead times that our customers need and our shareholders expect. This role will liaise with Development Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Launch teams and the Executive Team. The Project Manager (Global Supply Chain) ensures alignment between the new product development process and Husky’s Global Supply Chain strategy, achieves launch time lines and meets the target planned bill of materials costing.
Highlights of responsibilities:
- Participates, as the voice of supply chain, in technical reviews for new product development and works with development engineering to ensure choice of technology and price points align to the supply chain strategy and customer needs
- Determines what’s new and different for each new machine, conducts early supplier sourcing and partners with Finance and Supply Chain to determine target bill of material costing
- Works with Technical Specialists to verify that potential suppliers can provide the required technology in a repeatable fashion
- Improves the communication and co-ordination between all the teams that are involved in stage gate process
- Leads and facilitates multiple stakeholder groups and creates greater visibility and awareness of the dependencies between multiple groups
- Identifies gaps and obstacles to launch delivery and determines means to resolve
Qualifications:
Education: Engineering degree
Skills and Experience:
- Related experience
- Proven project management experience (PMP is an asset)
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to influence others in cross functional teams
- Analytical ability to create sellable business cases
- Strong communication skills to effectively align the organization and proven ability to present effectively at all levels
- Proven ability to drive initiatives
