Project Manager Job in Brampton, Ontario Canada
Eagle is currently seeking two (2). These contract positions are projected to be six (6) months in length and begin April 2012.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing scope and deliverables on a day to day basis on a project up to $5M;
- Providing end-to-end project management for a large project;
- Working with minimal supervision;
- Working within a defined work framework and reporting according to the set framework (schedule, budget etc.);
- Managing the details project schedule and defines the critical path;
- Tracking budget on a weekly basis;
- Submitting accruals according to the finance policy;
- Identifying and attempting to manage budget challenges;
- Reviewing and validating charges and allocations from other teams;
- Collecting and aggregating estimates to create the budget, creates the draft;
- Managing and ensuring integrated design sessions are run, defects are recorded and rectified in a timely manner;
- Identifying risks and assesses impact to project;
- Creating, maintaining and recommending mitigation actions;
- Defining team member requirements;
- Obtaining resources by negotiating amongst the impacted groups;
- Ensuring the team works in a cohesive manner, and removes roadblocks to ensure team moves forward;
- Establishing and maintaining project governance;
- Facilities open information flow among project stakeholders;
- Defining, collecting, monitoring, and analyzing project metrics and prioritizes/resolves issues;
- Ensuring adherence to project management standards and best practices;
- Identifying resources required in each area to support the project activities;
- Determining resources required in the non-IT deliverables (i.e. business readiness);
- Ensuring documentation of the minutes of the meetings;
- Creating, managing and driving resolution of issues log including description, ownership and action plan;
- Ensuring projects align with the business and IT strategies of supported organizations;
- Managing construction and implementation for complex projects;
- Maintaining project work schedules and assigns work;
- Coordinating end-user training activities;
- Meeting budget, timelines, and resource commitments;
- Managing project close-out for a complex project;
- Managing post implementation review;
- Conducting walk-through with stakeholders (Business and IT);
- Ensuring that project resources are re-deployed; and,
- Managing operationalization of deliverables.
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
- Ability to manage and track a project (or projects) through the life cycle steps of initiation, planning, execution and project closure;
- Understands SDLC, Development Technologies, Network and Server Architecture, and Project Management methodologies;
- Understands organization's existing and planned Information Architecture and Information Management methodologies;
Undergraduate degree required; - Minimum of 5 years of work experience;
- Industry certification;
- Strong knowledge of ITIL (5), EXCEL (5), MS VISUAL STUDIO (5); and,
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and take corrective action.
