Project Manager


This position will be responsible for the support of new business opportunities with transition to project oversight, planning, growth, customer support and other project management duties.

Job Duties:

·         Assist Business Development and Capture Management staff in solution development and the development of the programmatic approach for pursuits, including:

o    Translating the customer requirements into Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

o    Creating Basis of Estimates (BOE), defining risk and opportunities and estimation mitigation

o    Participate in the pricing efforts including: rate build up, relation of pricing to contract line items and understanding of cash flow

o    Facilitation/Coordination of the requirements and work of solution team members

·         Assist Subcontracts with the development of Supplier/Subcontract Statements of Work (SOW), spec requirements, Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotes (RFQ) and the review of subcontracts

·         Travel domestically and internationally in support of projects and new business development

·         Manage Assigned projects in accordance with the principles of the Program Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK)

·         Develop, monitor and maintain project schedules and initiate corrective action if required

·         Responsible for the approval of all data reports regarding assigned projects prior to release.  This includes budget development, financial review of numbers and allocations, and any monitoring matrixes that may be required

·         Liaise with various customers to ensure the smooth running of assigned projects through the implementation of Customer Focused Marketing with the end user. This will include technical investigations, integration development and program review meetings

·         Support growth of the division with regard to expanding assigned projects and seizing the opportunities for additional work through business development initiatives

·         Ensure risk/opportunity management plans are comprehensive and executable to meet commitments to customers

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Engineering or equivalent in training/work experience

·         Minimum of 5 years work experience in Project Management, Project Estimation, Project Engineering or System Engineering.

·         Certified Program Management Professional (PMP) or ability to achieve certification

·         Must possess strong project management skills for cost, schedule, technical performance and reporting.

·         Must have strong knowledge of computer scheduling tools - MS Project and Excel

·         Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

·         Familiarity with Department of National Defence/Public Works and Government Services Canada procurement would be an asset.

·         Experience with systems engineering and/or requirements management practices is an asset

·         Experience running capture and/or projects for Integration Programs (including requirements definition, design development, integration, validation, verification and production) and/or Support Programs (including set-up and steady state) is an asset
