Work will involve working with business analysts (BAs), or ensuring sufficient BA work to achieve successful project outcomes. Developing and managing project plans, timelines, issues/risks tracking and management, progress reporting at a variety of levels, helping with scoping, estimating, and scheduling, will be among the responsibilities. The PM will ensure that detailed requirements and specifications for web-related implementation and development projects are developed and approved, while playing a key role in transforming business needs into tools and websites that will address them. Collaborates with functional and technical staff, including customers, stakeholders, and development staff during full life-cycle development. PM leverages knowledge of software development, methodology (Agile/Scrum preferred, best practices, and project coordination approaches to achieve successful outcomes and deliver value. PM will work with development team to validate implementation options.

The key responsibilities include the following:

Primary responsibility for project planning, tracking, and delivery including establishing timelines, milestones, and checkpoints.
Works with management team to develop project resource plans.
Primary responsibility for project budget management and tracking, and reporting.
Establishes and manages practices for clear communication and information exchange at a variety of levels.
Works with customers, stakeholders, and technical staff, and BAs to clarify, document, and specify business needs, requirements, and deliverables.
Contributes and reviews functional specifications, user stories, use cases, project plans, and related documentation.
Coordinates with development team to assess and estimate level of effort for projects.
Works with clients and product manager to establish timelines and schedules.
Establishes resource plans with manager and product manager.
Captures and communicates change and enhancement requests and coordinates appropriate action.
Works closely with a variety of people at multiple organizational levels serving in business and technical capacities across Harvard.
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:

B.S./B.A., preferably in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent
4+ years of experience in technical fields, including at least 2+ years of project management and 1+ year of project team work and/or BA experience
Business and/or technical knowledge of web technologies is critical
Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with technical and non-technical audiences
Hands-on, detail-level PM experience, with MS Project, Excel, Visio experience, who can manage to a project plan, project budget, and work toward milestones
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Strong, demonstrable writing and communication skills required
Familiarity with software/web development process and methodologies, requirements development important
Comfortable working with all levels of leadership and staff
Additional Qualifications In addition to the required skills, the ideal candidate will have these highly desirable skills:

Successful candidate will take a broad view of the Project Managers role in the unique discipline of website and software development, and possess a good general understanding of all involved in building excellent websites and applications
Experience in full, life-cycle development efforts, leading approaches and methodologies (Agile/Extreme, RUP, Waterfall), and matrixed resource management, and communication skills
Strong functional understanding of web content management (Drupal), PHP/MySQL, and web-development processes required
Experience leading efficient and focused meetings, produce meeting minutes and artifacts that are distributed in a timely manner and at the appropriate level of detail
Comfortable preparing and delegating tasks in preparation for meetings
Familiarity of web technologies and tools including blogs, Wiki, social-bookmarking/mobility tools (del.icio.us)/emerging collaborative technologies, information design and architecture, visual design, graphic arts/design, business operations and/or management
Knowledge of the Harvard environment is desirable but not required
Must demonstrate a commitment to on-going professional development
