Project Manager Job in Edmonton T5N3N3, Alberta Canada
Our client based in Edmonton requires the service of a Project Manager on a contract basis with possible extension.
Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the projects required to deliver solutions for the clients program and supports internal clients.
The Project Manager leads and manages the team of Analysts and provides support to operational requests for IT solutions. As well, the Project Manager maintains a liaison with the IT Services Group and facilitates the shared services model of IT.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide centralized oversight for production and maintenance of all business models (current future state)
- Provide direction, oversight and coordination of resources in the development of a Business Architecture
- Manage vendors engaged to provide IT professional services
- Evaluate and select qualified technology partners through an ongoing RFQ process
- Manage IT projects from inception to completion
- Research, evaluate, estimate, recommend and develop senior management proposals; and procure and implement information technology and solutions to support business area operational objectives
- Ensure adequate and appropriate training is provided to the business for the effective use of IT assets
- Manage the IT Business Analysts to understand and document business requirements to support automation of business area functions and ensure appropriate data capture and measures are in place to support corporate reporting
- Oversee and establish a help desk governance structure that supports a single point of contact owning the incident from start to finish
- Develop IT budget
- Assist with IT Planning
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Proven project management experience and successful delivery, specifically experience with application development project management.
- Minimum 7 years in relevant IT management experience
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Data Management or Information Science/Management or related discipline or a minimum of 10 years equivalent experience
- Pro-active, self-directed individual who is able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Able to adapt to changing circumstances and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficient with MS office applications
