ABOUT THE COMPANY: TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) is a leading provider of mission-critical wireless data solutions to government customers, public safety, and carriers. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: The Project Manager (PM) will be the primary customer interface. The PM will ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules and budgets; coordinates customer and interdepartmental functions in order to facilitate TCS? performance in accordance with contract requirements and to ensure customer satisfaction; meets with Project team members and management on a regular basis to review Project status. The PM monitors, coordinates and facilitates the entire lifecycle of assigned contractual agreements, including delivery, test acceptance, and post-delivery customer support. The PM will have financial responsibility on the Project, with defined goals and objectives. PRIMARY DUTIES: Performs pre-acceptance contract, delivery orders, and mods reviews verifying products, quantities, pricing and delivery. Anticipates potential schedule or priority delays and initiate plans for alternative actions Advises management of the Project status and problems (or potential problems) on a regular basis and tracks project-level metrics. Interfaces with customers to resolve issues and deliver upon contractual requirements. In coordination with Corporate Purchasing, Products Division, and project Engineers, monitors third party vendor relationships with regard to obtaining hardware/software acquisition quotes, contracts, statements of work, delivery dates, and maintenance agreements. Prepares, schedules and delivers required customer project status reports. Ensures accurate signoff and invoicing. Proactively participates in developing and improving processes and procedures that support the above objectives. 50% travel required; (50% to Tampa, FL) SKILLS REQUIRED: Strong customer-focused orientation. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities. Experience developing and focusing teams to meet delivery schedules Must be familiar with standard Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project and Visio. Ability to mediate issues and to exercise sound judgment for escalation of problems to higher levels of technical support and/or management. Outstanding negotiation and presentation skills to internal and external customers. Ability to excel in a team environment that emphasizes total cooperation and mutual respect. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline. 5-7 years experience managing large scale projects. Managing projects within the Federal Government/Wireless space required. Working knowledge of Power Point, Excel, Word, MS Project, and Visio.
