Project Manager
We seek a talented Project Manager to be responsible for the execution of successful projects in the Military/Aerospace, Medical Device, Consumer Electronics, and Automotive Industries.
This position requires exceptional technical aptitude, strong customer interface skills and the ability to work within a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Project Management
· Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate .
· Helps identify resources required for project and works to ensure project is staffed properly.
· Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
· Effectively enforces project management standards. [mw1]
· Minimizes exposure and risk on project.
· Attains delivery schedules;
· Successfully leads multiple projects, some consisting of multi member teams.
· Change Order Management - delivering these to customers and tracking the status of same.
· Continuously monitoring projects for creeping elegance and scope related issues and budget.
· Participating in and sometimes conducting timely and productive Post Mortems.
· Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. [mw2]
Project Accounting
· Tracks team hours and expenses
· Manages project budget.
· Determines appropriate revenue recognition, invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
· Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
· Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
Financial Management
· Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections.
· Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization.
Business Development
· Identifies business development and "add-on" sales opportunities.
Communication
· Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
· Creating project status reports and sending them to the customer on a regular basis
· Holds regular status meetings with project team.
· Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
· Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
· Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Technical Understanding
· Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming and system design.
· Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client
engagements.
Basic Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:
· Engineering degree,
· Minimum 5 years project management experience, preferably within the integration test arena.
· Automated Test Equipment, preferably including National Instrument platforms.
· Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) experience.
· Risk management astuteness, ability to identify and quantify project related risks.
· Must be extremely organized with effective oral and written communication skills.
· High level of concentration, alertness, and adaptability to change.
· Judgment to deal with complex situations.
· Must be computer literate with MS Office expertise.
· Moderate travel required.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
· PMP Certification.
· Advanced technical degree.
· Integrated Test experience.
· Experience within Department of Defense / Military, Aerospace or Medical industries preferred.
· Knowledge and experience with test standards such as PXI, LXI, ATML etc.
· RF domain knowledge.
· Basic awareness of National Instrument ATE platforms.
· Software development experience specifically within LabVIEW and / or TestStand.
· Experience in government proposal development.
