We are searching for a Project Manager to add to our growing team. Responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Manager oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes progress of projects, and prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. The project manager is responsible for acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
The Project Manager is responsible for:
- Driving and managing the requirements gathering, project tasks/milestone, project status, dependencies and timelines, to ensure the projects are launched successfully and on time while meeting the business objectives
- The entire life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close) and will include responsibility for more than one project at a time
- Will play an integral role in coordination, facilitation and execution of projects
- Creating of project plans, status reporting, issues and escalation
- Identifying appropriate resource requirements and understanding project deliverables
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to see the overall project picture
- Communicating effectively to all levels of the Business organizations
- Executing deliverables and activities as defined in the project in order to achieve the project goals
- Assisting in identifying required customer information to ensure development of comprehensive and timely solutions- Suggest alternative approaches and solutions
- Establishing resource plan, schedule, budget, risks analysis, and acceptance criteria
- Establishing and managing risk mitigation and issue resolution plans
- Tracking and reporting performance metrics, action items, issues and risks – typically on a weekly basis
- Challenging "business as usual" while using a fact-based, objective approach to analyze current circumstances Preparing status reports and presentations suitable for varied audiences
- Identifying opportunities to fulfill customer requirements cost effectively and suggest alternative approaches where appropriate
- Developing strong working relationships with internal staff to ensure effective communication with all related functional areas
The successful candidate will have:
- BA Degree – Business, Project Mgmt or related field; PMP Certification a plus
- Previous experience leading project teams of 6-12 people
- Previous experience leading large/complex organization wide projects
- Operational knowledge of the 3rd party logistics and/or freight management industry is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a leadership position, able to drive team to delivery, maintain team's focus during periods of change and shifting priorities
- Must be able to work under pressure, producing high quality deliverables while meeting identified delivery dates Must be a motivated, forward thinking individual who is able to work with minimal supervision
- Exercises good judgment and understanding of dependencies across multiple projects
- Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Highly proficient in MS-Office suite, including MS-Project
- Structured and organized; use a variety of project management tools to keep projects on track; advocate for best practices and identify/implement them where gaps exist
- Must have excellent: time management, team building, verbal/written communication and organizational skills
