Project Manager

Project Manager
Responsible for profitability of individual E/P and EPC projects, by ensuring that appropriate cost and schedule controls are put into place. Also, technical design review/analysis; preparation of highly qualified contract documents; planning/coordination with Clients, contractors, subcontractors and other internal disciplines during project execution.
- Verifies scope of work definition for assigned projects and ensures that the executed contract documents accurately reflect that which was portrayed in the commercial quotation. Appropriately and proactively manages any contractual issues which represent financial risk to the company.
- Plans, organizes and directs all design engineering, procurement, system installation, and commissioning activities for an assigned project.
- Responsibility for profitability on assigned projects. Manages revenue, costs and gross margin against cost estimate for assigned projects. Monitors project financial status and controls project costs during execution to maintain profit margins.
- Establishes Customer relationship at appropriate level and manages his/her expectations relative to scope, price and schedule. Captures scope change and effectively communicates this to the Customer in a timely manner.
- Directs and oversees senior field supervisor of all installation/retrofit work on assigned projects.
- Ensures that schedules are maintained and the projects proceed in accordance with the contract documents and Customer expectations.
- Coordinates the thorough compilation of project controls data including but not limited to cost forecasting, scheduling and manpower progress.
- Plans and justifies expenditure of manpower, equipment, tools, and other appropriate
resources for effective and timely execution of assigned work. - Maintains timely communications and harmonious relationships between internal disciplines so that project details, planned execution strategy and/or design revisions can be coordinated to minimize cost and delay throughout the various phases of each project.
- Provides periodic and frequent project status and financial reporting for upper management and sales teams.
- Oversees the timely invoicing for an assigned project, and personally reviews Customer invoices. Ensures that all monies are collected in an acceptable time frame.
- Promotion of a safety first culture throughout all aspects of Project Management
- Acting as a liaison, optimizes the interdepartmental alignment of various engineering, procurement and construction project execution activities.
- Conduct technical design reviews and analysis, as needed.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Have the ability to gain in-depth knowledge of heat tracing technology and understand engineering and construction practices.
- A proven appreciation for, and a demonstrated capability in the application of advanced methods of data collection, technical data analysis and engineering/construction progress reporting is required.

- Written Communication - Is able to articulate field related issues and contract clarifications in written form
Required:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in construction or a related technical field. A Bachelor of Science degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience including at least two years of project management experience
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills, combined with organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of industry standards and codes (NEC, CEC, IEC, IEEE)

Preferred:
- Knowledge of Engineering and Construction Industry
- Professional Engineer Registration
- Engineering Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in the Petrochemical Industry with exposure to Heat Tracing technology
- Engineering, maintenance, project and/or operations experience at an operating petrochemical facility or a heavy industrial site is a distinct asset.
