Detailed Description

SUMMARY

Drives implementation of large scale projects and capital equipment installations having a significant impact on the facility engineering projects. Envisions the opportunity to utilize technologies and new processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Projects typically involve sizable capital programs in utilities and infrastructure.  Applies comprehensive knowledge of Electrical Engineering while advising management and influencing teams, workgroups, and initiatives. Also provides training and guidance to lower level staff members.

FUNCTIONS

-          Sells new concepts to Senior Management on appropriate projects that significantly enhance existing capabilities, and prepares capital expenditure requests for approval.

-          Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.

-          Identifies opportunities to lower risk, create value, and increase efficiency.

-          Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal.

-          Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

-          Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

-          Conducts research and analytical studies to develop design or specifications for facilities projects, equipment or processes.

-          Develops recommendations to change systems, policies, and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation.

-          Directs and coordinates building of prototype of system.

-          Plans and develops experimental test programs.

-          Confers with manufacturing and other engineers to clarify and resolve problems; prepares design modifications, as appropriate.

-          Prepares or reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.

-          Prepares product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.

-          Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets function and performance specifications.

-          Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.

-          Acts as a liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations.

-          Prepares project reports for management, client, or other project personnel.

-          Coordinates project activities with government regulatory or other governmental agencies.

-          Identifies and obtains team capabilities needed to accomplish project objectives.

-          Balances planning efforts with day to day demands.

-          Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

-          Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

-          High School diploma or GED.

-          Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of engineering, manufacturing or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or 12 years of engineering, manufacturing or operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

-          Experience managing projects.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

-          Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 10 years of electrical engineering experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

-          Master's degree.

-          Knowledge of private, local, state and federal regulatory agencies that influence and control winery activities.

-          Experience with CAD.

-          Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint.

-          Experience leading teams and driving improvement.

-          Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

-          Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

-          Experience writing speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

-          Experience effectively presenting information to top management and boards of directors.

-          Experience with advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

-          Experience with mathematical operations such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

-          Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

-          Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

-          Experience working with all levels and functions within the company.
