Client
Our Client is one of the largest engineering and construction firms performing work in Canada and internationally and ranks among the top ten in the world. They have a successful track record in the execution of hydro electric projects that include pre-feasibility and feasibility assessments followed by detailed design and construction.

Position Overview:
The Project Manager will be the primary manager of all phases of this hydro electrical project, with the objective being successful completion of the project on time and within budget, while maintaining quality, safety and financial management standards and producing strong customer references.

Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Manage a team to develop, design and supervise the construction of a Hydro Power plant project valued at approx $2B. - Manage team interface with the Client, suppliers and sub-contractors
- Manage all Engineering, procurement, contractual, scheduling and financial aspects of projects
- Manage all customer relationships during construction

Engineering and Design
- Facilitate conceptual designs and cost estimates
- Help develop schematic designs and scopes of work for contractor bids
- Facilitate final designs for contractor work orders
- Energy engineering and auditing
- Help develop value-added Engineering and execution schemes

Construction
- Oversee site safety to include obtaining safety permits and tracking contractor safety training records
- Track, review, and approve construction submittals
- Quality assurance
- Maintain schedules and budgets
- Maintain staff well being and minimize turnover

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of fifteen years of related experience on large EPCM projects.
- Having managed a project of similar complexity and magnitude
- Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team including assigning responsibilities and establishing schedules for individual team members
- Strong people skills, cash management skills, scheduling skills and management skills.
- Build strong customer relationships
- Excellent communication/public speaking skills
