Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) is a global leader in providing customers with high-performance specialty materials, including fluorine products; specialty films and additives; advanced fibers and composites; intermediates; specialty chemicals; electronic materials and chemicals; and technologies and materials for petroleum refining.
 
Honeywell PMT needs a Project Manager, Major Projects for the Baton Rouge, LA area. The selected Project Manager will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic work environment with capital intensive projects.
 
Principal Duties Responsibilities:
 
• Independently manages assigned capital program. Optimizes project cost and
  schedule to meet facility priorities and Strategic Business Enterprise (SBE) capital
  objectives with the key emphasis on maximizing the effectiveness of Fluorine
  Products’ investments.
• Thoroughly understands and uses the Design for Six Sigma and Lean
  Manufacturing tools.
• Mentors and supervises less experienced engineers. Ensures best practices such
  as Capital Project Management Process (CPMP), PMT Engineering Small Project
  Management Process, engineering procedures, standards, and practices, are
  continuously improved and standardized upon. Develops and deploys new
  departmental procedures and standards. • Demonstrates proficiency and compliance with CPMP and other best practices and
  company work processes. • Demonstrates the ability to form and lead teams in the resolution of problems and
  the application of sustained solutions.

 

Basic Qualifications:
• BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering required. • Minimum 8 years of experience in project management within a similar industrial
  manufacturing environment required.
• Minimum two years of experience managing projects in the $2MM range and up
  required.Additional Qualifications:
 
• Strong working knowledge of chemical plant operations and processes. Constant
  interfacing with plant personnel.  • Knowledge of fluorocarbons and refrigerants manufacturing, in particular, is a strong
  asset.
• Formal training and certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is
  desired.• Knowledge of process controls and instrumentation is a plus. • Licensed professional engineer desired.
