Project Manager (Ops) Job in Carmel 10512, New York US


The Project Manager is responsible for administering and overseeing all aspects of the management, operation, and maintenance activities at facilities operating under one contract. Responsibilities also include supervision of staff, development of monthly reports to clients and governmental agencies and interaction with city staff.

Assumes responsibility for insuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Project by:
Formulating divisional goals, strategies, and operating policies and procedures, and directing implementation of approved changes.
Making decisions on employees regarding employment, performance appraisal, salary changes, promotions, transfers, or terminations.
Insuring productivity levels are maintained through effective monitoring of staffing levels and financial requirements.
Guiding personnel to achieve optimum performance levels.
Overseeing the preparation and administration of the annual operating and capital budget.
Reviews and responds to the client's regulatory letters
Composes monthly reports for the assigned area
Meets with supporting managers to discuss regulatory sampling, personnel and compliance issues
Meets with city staff, council, and engineers to discuss facility operations, maintenance and capital projects
Develops and implements client retention plans and trains managers in this area
Develops new client contacts and works with marketing
Attends monthly council meetings and discusses issues with Regional Manager
Leads safety efforts within the area.
Conducts routine facilities inspections.
Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machine, and employees.
Reviews all expenses in area to determine if the best material for the money is being utilized. Work with purchasing to try and get best pricing for products utilized.
Recommends budgets to Regional Manager Financial Analyst.
Reviews budget monthly and reports from Financial Analyst
Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.
Other duties may be assigned.

Thorough knowledge of all plant operating processes and equipment, purchasing procedures, safety procedures, governmental regulations, and company policies.
Knowledge of water or wastewater treatment methods, process control techniques, and equipment operation and maintenance, budget analysis, and managing personnel.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Must be available to respond to emergency situations as needed.
Previous management experience required.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applied science or engineering and 7 years experience in the operation of water or wastewater treatment facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications/Licenses/Regristations:
Valid Driver's License
Water and Wastewater License or the ability to obtain reciprocity

Physical Demands:
Requires semi-frequent standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
