Project Manager (PMO) recruitment

Our client specialises in providing oil and gas data to financial, corporate and government enterprises. Following the decision to update and expand their product offering in Europe to provide better commercial revenue opportunities they are embarking on a large number of new initiatives over the next 6 months.

These initiatives will included providing a broader and deeper level of financial analysis to customers. Product enhancements, new product development and value added analysis will make their products more attractive to new customers and more “sticky” within existing accounts. The current project work will run along side BAU project work in London and other analysis projects will be run in conjunction with an offshore research team.

These series of projects are key to both the development of the organisation and future desirability of the product itself. In order to oversee the smooth running and implementation of these projects they are recruiting a project manager to play a resource management, project planning and PMO function. Ensuring there are clear channels of communication open between project teams and that projects are carefully monitored and run to their correct times scales and budgets.

The person that fills this position will also be responsible for the mentoring and training of a young team as well as performing knowledge transfer of their PM skills to an existing member of the organisation. If you have worked with a formal PM methodology such as Prince2 this would be beneficial although more informal methods such as At Task a web based PM tool will be considered.

This is a very interesting and challenging role with a small but growing Oil and Gas Research Data and Financial Analysis provider that will initially last for 6 month but which could lead to a more permanent role in the future.
