Project Manager - Educational Publishing / e-learning

Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: 35k to 40k basic + Bonus + Excellent benefits

My client is a leader in online publishing and e-learning solutions operating in Worldwide.

They currently have a requirement for an experienced Project Manager with a background and technical grounding from within the digital publishing / e-learning sectors.

Position Description

• Track and work with programme manager and publishing teams to prioritise localisation and feature requests
• Develop Requests for Proposals (RFP) for external services as needed
• Manage vendor relationship for all localisation projects
• Communicate regularly with the business stakeholders on schedule and other issues.
• Serve as internal expert on Person's eText platform
• Design and maintain technical and project documentation
• Efficiently identify and solve project issues
• Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, milestones
• Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning
• Work with US and EMA teams to coordinate review of user interface elements, test usability for new features; draft use cases and test plans for QA testing
• Coordinate direct user testing as needed
• Participate in periodic conferences and summits with software engineering teams; coordinate technology demonstrations to internal stakeholders; review online help and other documentation; and train support staff as needed
• Understand and stay abreast of technology trends, requirements, and regulations in the higher education market

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Project management skills.
• Ability to priorities workload and manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.
• Experience in educational publishing / e-learning
• Localisation projects experience
• Proven experience in software product and project management
• In-depth familiarity with software design, development, and release is required
• Ideal candidate will be BA/BS level calibre; Masters in Educational Technology or Instructional Design a plus
• Experience of copy writing, copy editing or proof reading.
• Advanced Office (Word, Excel) skills and HTML experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities while keeping a close watch on critical details.
• Experience in developing and maintaining external developer relationships with technology developers.
• Able to take initiative, build consensus, develop good working relationships across various segments of the business, and set priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:
• Experience with assessment content development an advantage
• Language skills may be advantageous in this role.
• Experience in educations publishing and/or educational software
• Experience in the use of an HTML editor, such as Macromedia Dreamweaver graphics experience, such as Adobe Photoshop or similar.
• Experience working in an international team
