SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will have excellent logic and problem solving skills and a drive to make a difference. They will be responsible for enforcing the rules of Scrum and Kanban, removing impediments for their team while promoting self-organization and constantly improving our standards of work. They will work closely with the Product Owner to ensure high quality software deliveries. Must have the ability to motivate teams and lead them to continuous improvement.
- Facilitates discussion and conflict resolution
- Helps team members understand roles in the scrum process
- Teaches team how to use and write user stories; works with team to estimate stories
- Plans and Facilitates the various Scrum/Kanban meetings (daily scrum, sprint review, retrospective and planning)
- Ensures Product Owner maintains and updates product backlog
- Helps team choose stories in a sprint, decompose stories into appropriate size tasks, ensures that team does not over commit
- Helps prioritize and manage maintenance work
- Ensures Scrum/Agile metrics are captured and made visible to team and stakeholders
- Coaches team to adopt Agile engineering practices and continual improvement
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
- Identify and remove impediments
- Empower the team to self-organize
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems preferred
- 8+ years of Management or Leadership experience
- Must be a team-player with the ability to work within a collaborative environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
- Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
- Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision and cross organizational boundaries
- Ability to coach individuals and teams to reach their highest potential
- Creative, resourceful and innovative problem solver
- Ability to deal with multiple projects
- Passion for excellence and process improvement
- Strong facilitation and coaching capabilities
- Proven track record of successful projects
- Self-taught and self-teaching, with a demonstrated aptitude for acquiring knowledge and skills
Highly Desired Skills:
- Excellent knowledge and proven, multi-year experience in agile development methods preferably as a Scrum Master/Agile Project Manager
- Success in this position requires good team building skills and a high level of motivation and drive.
