About the Role
Due to the growing profile of client money as an area of regulatory focus in Australia and internationally, Macquarie has identified a requirement to reconsider the existing client money environment and to develop a clear and consistent framework for handling client money in the future across the Group.
This role will provide a high level of hands on leadership to the coordination and implementation of a Client Money Framework across four of Macquarie's main business groups (FICC, BFS, MFG, MSG).
The framework is at an advanced stage of design and now requires embedding into the relevant MGL BU's to create a sustainable client money control/compliance environment.
About You
- Aligned to the new Client Money Framework design principles, the project manager will be responsible for:-
- Establishing clear client money related job descriptions for Business Group Management and staff and the Client Money Governance Group.
- Establish KPI's and performance assessment for Business Group Management and staff and the Client Money Governance Group.
- Establish clear Group-wide policies and principles for procedures to be set by the Client Money Group to provide consistency to approach to the operational activities relating to Client Money. This will include identifying a consistent approach to performing reconciliations, identifying common client money operational risks for inclusion in compliance plans etc.
- Establish a consistent approach to the interpretation of client money requirements.
- Establish a client money attestation process to support ongoing compliance.
- Establish an appropriate client money training program which can be rolled out to individual divisions.
- Ensure client money considerations are appropriately considered in existing or new Group-wide policies e.g. Bank account set-up, client onboarding, NPA/NPV process.
Key Competencies Required
- Desirable: Awareness and understanding of the client money regulatory environment
- Ability to self manage and deliver across multiple streams of activity
- Ability to communicate with and influence a broad range of staff at all levels from Operations, Legal, Compliance and Finance across junior and senior levels. - strong ability to create tailored solutions for individual business groups.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and produce high quality reports and progress updates for senior management.
- Strong Powerpoint, Word and Excel skills required.
