Project Manager, Website Deployment

Principal Objective

The Project Manager is responsible for successful deployment of Vacation Storebuilder (VSB) powered ecommerce websites for the vacation rental and ownership industry. The person in this hands-on role will measure success by the ability to deploy ecommerce websites on time and within budget in the most efficient way possible. The Project Manager should be easy to work with yet tenacious in communicating and driving setup and content management teams to implement tasks as part of the setup process.  This fast-paced position entails utilizing the components of the VSB platform and its cloud-hosted environment for the end-to-end deployment of ecommerce websites.

Responsibilities

·         Process and verify website orders to set timeline, organize assets, and coordinate kick-off

·         Setup and customize website designs from VSB’s website design library

·         Setup and apply VSB’s system settings for domain names, SSLs, emails, payment processors, property management systems, Google Analytics, social media platforms, and any/all other necessary third-party integrations

·         Collect, organize, import, and optimize media and content using VSB’s content and media management console

·         Coordinate with online marketing specialists and copy writers to brand, position, and optimize ecommerce websites, and setup all applicable online marketing tools including setup related to search engine optimization, social media marketing/sharing, email marketing, and search engine marketing

·         Coordinate and perform complete website testing, including accuracy and optimization of all content and media, integrity of all links, verification of all website functionalities (search, emails, booking flow, etc), and ability for the website to perform all actions necessary to initiate and complete secure and accurate online bookings through the booking engine as well as facilitate offline bookings over the phone

·         Support ongoing website management and maintenance

·         Measure deployment performance and document improvements for: time and cost efficiencies, security, scalability, speed, usability, etc.

·         Work with product development team to help document and test new functionalities, enhancements, as well as document and report defects and issues

·         Create and maintain documentation and logs of the deployment process

·         Train other personnel, clients and partners on use of the VSB Platform via static documentation, as well as live and recorded screen walkthroughs

·         Provide reporting of website performance for clients, online marketing team and billing

·         Setup and support of VacayStay.com ecommerce websites, affiliate network, and white label ecommerce websites

·         Coordinate with marketing to manage and maintain vacationstorebuilder.com, vibesinteractive.com, and related Vibes’ company/product websites

·         Assist with setting up, troubleshooting, and configuring internal IT environment, including networking, help desk support, phone support, etc

·         Assist with implementing virtual environments for file sharing, project management, document management, etc. with the intent of reducing costs and increasing scalability of physical and virtual offices

 

 

Qualifications

·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technology, Website Development/Design, Communications, or equivalent experience

·         2-3 years’ experience as a webmaster and/or experience launching websites (ideally setting up or managing eCommerce sites in the travel, hospitality, or vacation rental industry)

·         Experience coordinating and/or supervising teams for incremental task-oriented work

·         Experience with a content management system

·         Solid working knowledge of standard web technologies, such as HTML and CSS

·         Knowledge of search engine marketing, especially search engine optimization, and social media platforms

·         Experience managing or using a Software-as-a-Service platform

·         Knowledge of Photoshop and creating/editing images for the Web (Video production, editing and flash experience is a plus)

·         Proven organizational and project management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks

·         Effective blend of analytical, problem solving, and creative skills

·         Ability to communicate clearly and effectively between cross-functional teams, including off-shore resources
