Project Manager/Civil Engineer
Our client is a premier California Engineering firm with an immediate opening for a licensed Civil Engineer/Project Manager specifically with Hydrology project experience.
The Civil Engineer/Project Manager will represent the firm in all communications with the client from initial effort, through the entire course of agreement activity, and in post agreement marketing activities on a regular basis. Communicate regularly with assigned the firm principal or office manager relative to project status and performance. Emphasis of civil engineering experience and knowledge should include construction review and administration.
Responsibilities:
Manage projects related to land development, ecological restoration, and hydrologic analysis. Hydrologic/ hydraulic modeling of complex drainage networks, city-wide water distribution systems, localized water supply for fire protection, storm water detention/treatment, pump lift station design, project developments, cost estimates. Demonstrate proficiency in prep of construction docs and CSI format specifications, tech. reports, oversight and management of sub-consultant work, co-ordinate. Work w/ reviewing agencies, standard engineering industry software (CAD, etc.)You will maintain ongoing client relationships. Pursue new work and bona fide leads with new clients. Prepare technical sections of proposals. Participate in interview presentations. Plan, organize, direct, and control project team activities. Define project scope, budget and schedule. Review and or supervise technical aspects of work. You will have primary responsibility for quality control and be the primary client contact. Set goals and evaluate staff performance. Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced staff members. Coordinate staff resources with other PM's and Principals. Develop and monitor project fee budgets. Participate in contract negotiations. Approve client billing. Secure contract amendments for changes to scope and fees. Meet or exceed group and individual performance goals. Communicate project requirements to all team members. Commit resources of the firm issuing start and stop orders relating to the project progress and clients directives within contract requirements. Provide input to group Principal regarding hiring, firing and promotion of staff.
Qualifications:
B.S in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent plus appropriate continuing education. Applicant must be a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California. Background should include experience in hydrology, site development, design of residential and/or commercial subdivisions, roadways and utilities systems. Demonstrated capability to oversee a minimum staff of 4 engineers. Minimum of ten years of professional experience preferred. P.E Required.
