Job Summary/Description
This position will be the key position to support SCS’s environmental consulting market position in the Denver Colorado metropolitan area. Initially the qualified individual will be expected to assist in the market development of the Denver area for the purpose of acquiring new solid waste consulting work. As new work develops the selected individual will then be required to manage and maintain a principle point of contact with clients; manage the schedule and work product performed consistent within SCS’s quality control standards. In addition, this individual will be responsible for management of project budgets, and professional staff employees as necessary.
Job Qualifications/Competencies/Experience
Range years of experience needed: 10+ years of consultancy experience
Education: Environmental, Civil Engineering, Geology or Related Degree
Training/ Certifications: Colorado P.E (civil) or P.G. registration preferred but not required
Technical Experience: Needs to be competent with using MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting. Experience with using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software desired, but not required..
% Office vs Field Time: Varies, initially the majority of time will be spent in the field meeting with potential clients and preparing proposals and over time, as successful with market development, and be more evenly divided with office centered technical management and production work.
Travel (day trips or overnight and % of travel expected): Varies, most of initial effort will be in the Denver Metropolitan area on a daily basis. Occasional overnight travel will be expected to other areas of the mountain region.
Industry Experience: Selected individual must have a broad working knowledge and demonstrated consulting experience, business specific to the solid waste industry, including landfill gas management, air compliance, landfill design and permitting. The candidate should have experience dealing with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) staff and knowledgeable of the State of Colorado’s permit processes.
Additional Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a requirement.
