Project Portfolio Manager
Corporate Operations Group (COG) provides specialist professional services, human resources, workplace infrastructure, and technology and market operations to Macquarie's businesses. The primary purpose of COG is to support and enhance the value of Macquarie through the creation of an efficient, scalable operating model. This is evident across the activities of each of the divisions which comprises of Business Improvement and Strategy Division (BIS), Business Services Division (BSD), COG Business Management, Human Resources Division (HR), Market Operations and Technology.
The Technology Group is responsible for:
- Managing Macquarie's technology infrastructure
- Supporting, maintaining and enhancing existing business systems
- Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies and services
The Group provides each major business in Macquarie with a dedicated team that works closely with that business to understand its particular technology needs. The RMG Account team provides technology support for Macquarie's Risk Management Group (RMG) and the iRisk group, which is responsible for managing IT related risks within Macquarie as well as the Company Secretary (single application), Market Operations Deliver (MOD - single application), and FMG Group Regulatory Reporting (single application). We are the system owners for Central Customer. Because of the Document Approval System (DAS), User Access Management (Sailpoint) I.T. Risk and Vendor Management (Archer) - all Macquarie Group staff are our customers. The RMG and iRisk functions, ensure that Macquarie Group continues to meet its internal and external obligations regarding risk management.
An opportunity has arisen for a Project Portfolio Manager, managing the project portfolio for the Corporate Delivery RMG iRisk team applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a $10m annual project portfolio through initiation, approval and delivery in conjunction with the relevant business and I.T. staff
- Identify, resolve and escalate (as needed) risks and issues to ensure on-time, in-budget, high quality outcomes across the portfolio
- Line manager of a team of 10+ staff in Sydney, New York and Manila (project managers, BA's and test manager) to ensure agreed outcomes, career progression and staff engagement
- Liaise with divisional PMO to provide monthly status reporting and financials
- Chair weekly Projects Meetings and ensure timely distribution of minutes
- Provide monthly account team financial reporting
- Support annual budget forecasting
- Facilitate divisional establishment of centralised Programme Management capabilities
Experience Skills Required:
- Experience in small, medium and large technical project/programme delivery including industry best practices for both waterfall and agile methodologies
- Experience in project management and financial software (MS Project, MS Office)
- Strong communication skills at staff and up to executive level interaction
- Strong leadership and people skills
- Experience in working with permanent, contracting, vendor and off shored resourcing
- Experience in managing stakeholders at all levels and facilitating consensus/issue resolution
- Proactive and organised
