Project Scheduling Specialist

The successful candidate for this position will directly support the completion of effective project scheduling activities on a multi-billion dollar portfolio of projects under development in the liquids pipeline division. This role is accountable for establishing and promoting internal standards and practices associated with preparation of project schedules as well as providing ongoing support to Business Development Engineering personnel with completion of specific project schedules.

Responsibilities

Ensure a high degree of consistency for work produced throughout BD Engineering by establishing and promoting internal standards and practices related to the development of project schedules.

Establish and maintain templates that are used in the preparation of project schedules for all class of estimates.

Work with external engineering consultants to establish clear expectations regarding their scheduling practices and conducts routine audits to ensure a high level of compliance with those expectations.

Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of actual project performance metrics that are used to benchmark all schedules prepared by BD Engineering.

Establish and maintain a general definition of functional stakeholder input required on the development of all project schedules.

Support the development of realistic and reliable project schedules for proposed new capital projects, ensuring the appropriate definition of risks, uncertainties, and probabilistic outcomes for those schedules.

Qualifications

A Professional Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience that includes at least 5 years of experience as an expert scheduler on projects directly related to the hydrocarbon pipeline or similar process industry or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera scheduling software.

Ability to assess challenges to developing accurate and comprehensive project schedules and develop/implement appropriate strategies to resolve those challenges.

Working knowledge of AACE guidelines.

Demonstrated project management, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal skills

Proven ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-project, and dynamic environment.
