My client is a market leader providing products and services to the railway, mining and exploration industries. They have developed systems that help their customers effectively manage assets and operations across Australia, South Africa, Asia and the UK and are widely recognised for their innovation and engineering excellence. The Head Office is in Perth, Australia, with offices in Derby, UK.

 

Due to ongoing project demands, my client has a superb opportunity for a Project Site Manager to join their team in Port Hedland, Western Australia, initially on a contract basis for up to two years, but following which there may be other similar assignments elsewhere.

 

Reporting to the Perth-based Project Manager, this role will involve leading teams to deliver the efficient installation, testing and client acceptance of engineering systems within the mineral resources management environment to a high standard of quality, on time and to budget.

 

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

 

·         Ensure project compliance to all health, safety and environment systems and processes

·         Ensure that teams work efficiently to deliver electrical and mechanical equipment systems installation and configuration management

·         Operate as the client interface

·         Responsible for technical acceptance of equipment and quality of all workmanship

·         Responsibility for auditing of all aspects of project performance on site

·         Responsibility and coordination of staff communication processes, training, inductions and competency requirements

·         Responsibility for reporting performance to quality, schedule and budget targets and KPI

·         Manage site based equipment logistics

·         Organise and coordinate shift working patterns

 

The ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:

 

·         Project management experience in a mining resources environment

·         HSEC processes and systems

·         Risk management processes and procedures

·         Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

·         Experience of electrical / engineering project installation, testing and commission operations

·         Working with and delivering recognised Quality Management Systems
