Position Description The Project Specialist Exteriors (PSE) position plays the primary, customer-facing role in developing, closing and managing the selling process around exterior project sales. The PSE will positively impact exterior project sales volume and customer satisfaction by doing the following: Building relationships with customers and proactively communicating throughout the selling cycle, Interviewing customers and performing detailed site inspections to collect project specifications and develop comprehensive Exterior Project Plans quotes in the home, Actively manage the sales cycle to close the sale, Present plans to customer and move to close the sale. The PSE acts as primary point of contact for qualified Exterior Projects customers during the selling cycle. The position conducts in-home consultations by appointment to assist customers in assessing/understanding the work needed to complete an exterior project. The position primarily interacts with customers during in-home visits to ensure all components of the selling model are being executed to customer's satisfaction. The PSE is responsible for providing superior customer service and achieving sales budgets in assigned area. The PSE is to greet and acknowledge all customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service. Job Requirements Sufficient knowledge of each category involved in an exterior project such as windows, roofing, siding, decking, and fencing. Ability to manage multiple tasks (in-store and during sales calls) and coordinate multiple projects at different stages in the selling cycle. Thorough understanding of industry specific estimating techniques related to exterior installations. Ability to persuade customers to make purchases and close projects in a customer's home. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and working knowledge of weights and measures as applicable. Ability to understand and respond appropriately to basic customer and employee inquiries regarding offered products and projects. Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language communications skills when there is a business need). Ability to operate store equipment in assigned area. Satisfactorily complete all Lowe's training requirements. Ability to operate/demonstrate/explain merchandise in assigned area. Thorough knowledge of Lead and Contact Management. Preferred experience selling at least two of the Exterior Categories (Windows, Siding, Decking, Fencing, Roofing, Gutters), or equivalent. Prior experience in measuring, estimating, and project planning is preferred. Must have reliable transportation to travel to the sales call/job site and to and from the store. Prior in-home selling or equivalent is preferred. Must pass a semi-annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review and maintain a valid driver's license.
