The Project Specialist will support the Director, Technology Development as required with project management and administration of projects related to standards technology. Primary functions of the Project Specialist include managing the scope, schedule, and budget of assigned projects as ASME continues to expand its support of the ASME Standards Technology, LLC (ASME ST-LLC). Additional functions include support of directorate initiatives for new standards development, new product development, and global development.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform technical editting and support publishing of project deliverables.
- Develop various written documents, such as proposals, reports, minutes, etc.
- Contribute and assist with ASME standards, new product,and global development initiatives.
- Participate on ASME cross-functional project teams.
- Directly interface with ASME staff, volunteers, customers, and subcontractors.
- Organize and participate in meetings, seminars, and conferences supporting initiatives.
- Represent the interests of ASME and the ASME ST-LLC.
Ideal applicant will have a technical/engineering degree, plus a minumum of 5 years professional experience with industry or government in areas served by ASME Codes Standards. The candidate should have the ability to interface effectively with cross-functional organizations, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit, initiative, and commitment necessary to establish and grow the effectiveness of the position. Strong task management, organizational, and communication skills are required. Codes and standards experience a plus.
