Project Tooling coordinator Job in Auburn Hills 48326, Michigan US
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Perform as a company resource in defining production part manufacturability, plus mould design and construction criteria.
Prepare and issue tooling specification and tooling quotation requests for all injection thermoplastic and thermoset molds
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interface with Sales, Program Management, Engineering, Industrial Development and Manufacturing Operations
Manage tooling design release considering AL guidelines, Moldflow results and part quality requirements
Manage tooling construction follow-up and provide reports as required
Manage integration of part design changes into respective molds
Manage tooling follow-up until tool is release for production
Perform duties with minimum supervision
Other duties as assigned in RASIC chart
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Technical college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Practical mold design and/or mold making experience.
Experience:
- 7+ years with a broad knowledge of tool engineering principles in the general field of plastics technology
Skills:
- Strong math and computer capability
- Detail oriented and able to communicate effectively
- Able to read 2-D and 3-D designs
- Knowledge on how to operate 3-D software
