Job Details:

SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, perform year-round cleaning and general maintenance duties for public restroom areas, buildings, offices, and other large scale cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the work area and share responsibility with all staff for the clean and neat appearance of the entire hospital

Keep the public restroom areas throughout the hospital in clean and orderly condition at all times, checking that paper and soap supplies are continually replenished and that all equipment is in functioning order

Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum floors as needed

Empty trash and garbage containers

Change light bulbs and unclog drains, responsible for the up keeping and repairs of the hospital

EDUCATION and/ or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or G.E.D.

1-3 months related janitorial or maintenance experience

Ability to read, write and communicate routine information and work reliably from written and verbal instructions

Equivalent combination of education and experience
