Property Accountant Job in Los Angeles, California US
We need a strong property accountant available immediately to join an energetic and hard working environment, downtown Los Angeles. This is designed to last for over 6 months consulting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Will employ a number of duties in the areas of accounting, project support, and a variety of administrative duties consisting but not limited to the following:
- Preparing monthly accounting tasks including reviewing and approving invoice coding, monthly accrual calculations, CAM reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and monthly reporting packages
- Acting as a liaison between Accounting Department and Asset Services Team to complete the accounting month-end process, annual budget process, and monitor collections of outstanding tenant receivables.
- Reviewing monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
- Detail reviewing monthly and quarterly property balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
- Analyzing and maintaining the fixed asset sub-ledger, including processing and recording all addition, disposal, and transfer of assets
- Preparing and recording journal entries
- Preparing and reconciling straight-line rent schedules in accordance with lease terms
- Preparing quarterly and annual debt compliance packages
- Providing support with a variety of special projects, including external and internal audit requests, fixed asset review projects, and ad hoc reports for management review.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical accounting research skills desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels including, but not limited to HQ/field personnel, senior management, lenders, consultants, etc.
- Proficient in business related software: Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, etc.
- Yardi and related accounting software experience desirable.
- Public commercial real estate experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CPA preferred
Experience:
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
