Property Accounting Manager recruitment

This individual will produce consistently accurate and timely management accounts and financial statements for the relevant funds and associated timely and accurate financial information to meet the obligations to customers. The role involves accounting for UK Real Estate Investments and covering for or assisting with our International Real Estate Accounting team to maintain consistency, and provide additional opportunities. There are 4 members of staff reporting into this role.

Principal Tasks and Accountabilities:

* Manage the appropriate Property Accounting team ensuring the appropriate resource and structure is in place to produce consistently accurate and timely interim and annual financial statements and quarterly management accounts for the relevant funds in line with IFRS and UK GAAP reporting standards, including management of the delivery of information from outsourced information providers, in line with the regulatory deadlines and constitutional requirements of the funds, and Group reporting deadlines. Maintain a suitably robust review process and up to date checklists to ensure correct Accounting treatment of assets and transactions.

* Client Management across all key Client deliverables, ensuring that all standard deliverables are met, and that Client Changes are considered, and resourced and delivered as agreed, and high levels of customer satisfaction is maintained

* Manage the process for approval of financial statements with the relevant Fund Manager, including timely resolution of related queries, and subsequent circulation to Unit-holders, Partners or Group Secretaries for presentation at Board Meetings, ensuring regulatory and constitutional deadlines are met.

* Manage the production of timely and accurate quarterly financial information, including Analytical Schedules, SPV Consolidation, Disclosure Information, and Market Value Schedules, in line with Group Reporting deadlines

* Chair/Deputy chair to the quarterly SPV meetings with senior members of Client Finance Team, including preparation and circulation of papers, ensuring the meeting is informed in a timely manner of key developments and events

* Manage the calculation of timely and accurate Net Asset Values and Unit Prices for relevant funds ensuring a suitably robust validation and analytical review has been performed before the information is released to relevant Internal and External parties.

* Manage the process of producing timely and realistic annual budgets, forecasts and financial modelling where appropriate, with the assistance of Fund Managers ensuring key assumptions are documented and ensure results and assumptions are regularly reviewed to ensure these remain appropriate in light of factors such as market conditions which may impact fund performance and investment strategy.

* Manage the timely and accurate calculation of Distribution Payments, Distribution Rates and arrangement of draw down notices for relevant funds ensuring a suitably robust validation and analytical review has been performed before the information is released to relevant Internal and External parties, including outsource providers.

* Manage the relationships with outsourced information providers, acting as an escalation point for day to day issues, and ensure appropriate KPI's are in place to monitor service levels, regular monitoring is undertaken to gain satisfaction that appropriate controls are in place and that any remedial actions required are tracked to ensure timely implementation.

* Produce timely and accurate KPI information and Dashboards regarding controls, outstanding balances, key risks and other relevant information.

* Manage the audit process with both External Auditors and Group Internal Audit to provide information required by them and ensure queries are resolved in a timely manner.

* Ensure all identified controls for the function, including Sarbanes Oxley and AAF, are being consistently applied and any agreed actions to improve controls are implemented in a timely manner

* Ensure that technical accounting research is undertaken around changes to accounting standards or new transactional activities to ensure that accurate treatments and disclosures occur - including working with and supporting other Technical Departments as necessary.

* Oversee projects relating to the Property Operations Accounting function ensuring the appropriate internal and external resource is in place to attend project meetings and deliver projects and change in accordance with agreed deadlines

* Work with the other Property Accounting Managers to ensure that all deliverables are identified, prioritised and managed to conclusion, being alert to fluctuating requirements.

* Manage and motivate the appropriate Property Operations Accounting team ensuring appropriate communication structures are in place and role objectives and individual development needs are agreed on an annual basis and regularly reviewed/addressed as appropriate. Ensure the performance of team members is managed in line with internal performance management and career development structures.

The Property Accounting Manager will be expected to be alert to UK and Relevant Overseas Regulations.
