SUMMARY: 
Reporting to the Senior Vice President – Insurance Business Development and Operations, this position participates in the development and leads the execution of business plans and strategies to manage workflow and quality review for property loss estimates. Manages and sets accountabilities for direct reports. Provides feedback, coaching and counseling to employees as warranted in order to enhance individual contributions and achieve Company goals and objectives. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Responsible for the leadership and management of a team of property estimating professionals with the accountability to manage workflow, assign work to contractors, review estimates and align estimates with the specifications provided by the carrier.  Participates in the development of departmental strategic plans and objectives. Participates in workflow design and modification. Responsible for the development, coaching, training and mentoring of individual team members. Maintain and develop relationships with key business associates, customers or individuals. Responsible for the management and measurement of individual performance and team operational results, including customer service, loss scope, expense outcome and strategic alignment with Company goals and objectives. Provide guidance and direction to direct reports through a continuous process of management involvement and frequent claim file review. Focus on resolution and process improvement, fulfilling all obligations while maximizing cost effectiveness, helping the business understand drivers, trends and product stress points and helping our partners attract and retain business. Span of control up to approximately 15 estimating professionals.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  
Responsible for the overall management and operation of the property loss evaluation unit to include tactical and strategic planning, annual budget preparation and monitoring, projecting human resource and customer needs, hiring, motivating, promoting, developing and disciplining staff.  Creates a working environment which fosters the achievement of the highest level of technical competency and professionalism with staff.  Responsible for the management and measurement of individual performance and team operational results, including customer service, loss scope and expense outcome and strategic alignment with Company goals and objectives.  May be responsible for contact with external partners or clients which involves maintaining, developing and influencing relationships with key individuals.

 

GOVERNANCE:  Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws that impact the Company.
