PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR (2 POSITIONS)

Position works with UNL faculty, administrators and staff, and extramural partners to develop competitive external grant proposals required to manage complex groups composed of faculty from diverse disciplines and institutions, university administrators and professionals from partnering institutions, philanthropic foundations and the private sector. Responsible for identifying funding opportunities and working with the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development and associate/assistant vice chancellors, deans, department heads, center directors and faculty to generate teams to pursue funding opportunities; manages the proposal development process from strategizing the proposal's fit to agency requirements to the final submission. Leads meetings of writing and development teams, develops timelines and ensures deadlines are met; liaises with funding agency officials on behalf of principal investigators; develops partnerships with external institutions; arranges on-site and off-site expert external reviews; and assists in securing necessary institutional support. Responsible for improving the content, clarity, organization and visual appeal of written documents and for writing non-scientific sections of proposals and editing completed proposals.
