Our client specialize in the design and supply of equipment used in the treatment of domestic and industrial water and wastewater, and as a result of recent positive restructuring and a series of strategic acquisitions that have provided the organisation with recognized trademarks, cutting edge technology and access to new markets, they offer a complete range of both solutions and products on a Global basis and are seeking to recruit an experienced Proposals Engineer to complement their existing team.
Reporting to the Proposals Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked with providing key consultation, engineering and design support, including cost analysis as related to pricing and the preparation of presentation drawings, illustrations and layouts for a diverse range of project values and applications. You will prepare supplemental information as required to evolve a project from an enquiry to a proposal, and work closely with other departments in reviewing project specifications in order to execute the bid in accordance with the company strategy.
Additionally you will perform accurate engineering calculations as required and help to maintain and update existing Sales Support file information and selecting appropriate components for given applications situations, resolving problems by adjustments to the existing equipment, addition of new equipment or replacement by a new system, and taking into account cost effectiveness, customer preferences and the correct technical approach before preparing the necessary information to support the product specialists in creating proposal write-ups. Occasional site visits to assist in gathering data or presenting solutions will be undertaken, with additional scope to train and mentor new entrants to the business when required.
To be considered for this varied and challenging position, the successful candidate will demonstrate a relevant HND or above qualification and experience gained in a previous Proposal/Bids/Tenders environment - ideally within the wastewater sector although this is not a priority. You will be IT literate and demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team. The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure and undertake some international travel within the EMEA region will also prove distinctly advantageous.
